Golden Soup
I’ve got grief here. Look on the web and you’ll find a hundred recipes for ‘Golden Soup’, and they are nothing like what I know. But I can’t source the original recipe.
Unlikely ingredients, but from any supermarket, maybe even the corner shop.
Ingredients
Onions
Apples (peeled, cored, chopped—the main work)
Potatoes, equal to apples (peeled, chopped)
Curry powder
Stock (of some kind)
Salt and Pepper
Tools
Some way to chop veg
Hand blender. Can be done with a masher, but blender is the way to go
Oven
Nope. A hob and pan
Make
English soup style,
Fry onions until soft (with lid)
Tip in potatoes and apples
Fry on a tablespoon of curry powder
Tip on stock
Boli until potato is cooked (two or three songs)
Blend or mash

The result is nothing like what you put in. Magic.
Errm… you can’t sell this to anyone. Don’t even try. Soup is bad enough. Try telling them it’s soup. Let them, if they must, guess.
